Liquid Pigment Dispersions:
Quaker Color specializes in the manufacture of liquid pigment dispersions (LPDs) for in-plant color tinting. These colorants are typically a highly concentrated mixture of pigments and additives in a liquid carrier to impart color where precise color control is needed. Liquid colorants can be added to a wide variety of base materials such as coatings, stains, textiles, graphic arts, etc. We offer a wide range of high-performance, highly customizable colorants including solvent and water-based (both resin-free or resin containing), waterborne low-VOC, and 100% solids liquid dispersion options. Typical applications include industrial coatings, (maintenance, OEM), architectural paints & stains, automotive, and building materials.
Solid Pigment Dispersions (Chips):
Quaker Color specializes in the manufacture of solid pigment dispersions (SPDs), also known as “Chips” for in-plant color tinting. Our solid pigment dispersions are produced in a 2-roll mill process and provide outstanding color performance. The SPDs come in multiple resin systems, including Epoxy (3 Series) and CAB (6 Series). They are formulated to be made soluble or “cut” into the solvent/resin system of choice to produce a fully functional liquid pigment dispersion on demand. SPD’s offer superior optical color transparency as compared to typical liquid milled pigment dispersions. Typical applications include coatings for automobile refinish, packaging, general industrial, and stains.
